Tea Ceremony
We hope that our guests will have the opportunity to experience more of Japanese culture and leave NISHIYAMA RYOKAN with a smile.
With this wish in mind, we regularly—and sometimes irregularly—hold a variety of activities and events.
Matcha Tea Ceremony
In Japan, there is a proverb from the tradition of the tea ceremony (known in Japanese as Sadō or Chadō, the Way of Tea) called “Ichigo Ichie,” which means “treasuring each encounter as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Guided by this spirit, we treat every interaction with our guests as a precious moment—one that may happen only once.
And should we have the joy of welcoming you again on a future journey, there would be no greater happiness for us.
With this heartfelt hope, we prepare and serve each cup of tea.
